NASCAR: Biffle Makes it 2 in a row

Dover Delaware, Greg Biffle lead a 1,2,3 finish for Roush-Sox at the Monster Mile. The closing laps were as good as seen in many weeks of ho-hum races. Biffle who was winless in ‘08 until last week at New Hampshire.

The pre-chase points leader was the first one to the garage today with an expired engine. Kyle Bush has now dug himself a hole all the way to 12th place following just 2 races. Perhaps the #18 team has finally run the table and will scratch the shot on the 8 ball.

In the Chase to the Championship, Kyle Bush is down, but not out of the picture. Greg Biffle, who just a week ago was looked upon as one who had the talent and resources but not a likely contender. In the picture at right, you can see that Matt Kenseth and cousin Carl are right there second and third at the finish. Jack Roush had to wonder who’s pit box he wanted to sit on during the last 20 laps. Cousin Carl took only 2 tires on the final stop. The #17 and #99 both took 4. That made the difference as all three drivers lead during the final run.

Great runs for Mark Martin finishing 4th in the #8 Army car, and how about old Mikey Waltrip with a 10th place finish in the #55 NAPA car. They were the only drivers not in the chase to finish in the top ten.
