It is usually right around the Christmas to New Years week that seems to cause a need for speed. I miss the old ‘WINTER HEAT’ series from Tuscon, Az. It was started by TNN and then went to ESPN. Some pretty great shoes from the southwest came out of that series. Greg Biffle got his shot at the big time due to his performance during WINTER HEAT. In Salt Lake City, you know it is midwinter because the monster trucks come in January. It has been a few years since Grumpy bought in for that. But it was horsepower and LOUD. Monster trucks are like the WWE of motorsports. There is not much to the show. Truck and Tractor pulls, well they don’t come to Utah anymore. They are loud and with an indoor arena, you can kill your ear drums and smell the fuel.
I am beginning to get twitchy. I need a motorsports fix. I wish I could go to Tulsa for the CHILI BOWL NATIONALS.
Things are quiet, too quiet.
