NASCAR: Talladega Nights, Bad Movie- Great Race?

Just a few minutes into the first cup practice session, John Darby was on the radio reminding everybody it was just a practice. There they were running 3 and 4 wide down the backstretch at ‘dega in a pack of about 25 cars.

Smoke errupted from the #88 of Dale Earnhardt jr. Looks like an engine swap for the Amp team before the second practice session later today. That could cause all of the Hendrick teams and teams who use Hendrick engines to get nervous just as they were at Daytona in Feb.

Some 73,000 fans of the JR Nation have their names on the #88 for this event. Would that be cool or what if Junior could win on Sunday?

This is the race that can potentially make or break a contender in the Chase for the championship. We have seen how some just plain poor racing luck has dumped Kyle Bush from first to 12th in the Chase. He may be out of contention, maybe. Talladega can be cruel. A guy can lead the most laps and think he may have a win coming, next thing you know, he is shuffled out of the lead and finds himself running 30th. Then the BIG one happens right in front of him. In the final run down, he is scored 38th. Bummer.

So, cinch up the belts on your Lay-Z-Boy. Get ready for the one that could bring some excitement back to the Chase.
