At the beginning of the 2007 season, I remember picking Kubica as at least one underrated driver who would soon surprise everyone. I may have been a little early to the party in terms of seasons, grin, but it’s still wonderful to see him, and BMW, taking podiums in 2008.
In fact — it’s great to finally see a bit of performance diversity in F1, as I grew tired of simply trying to predict which Ferrari or McLaren teams would take races/podiums. In NASCAR, this type of thing is called “parity” — a term I seriously dislike, especially as it relates to the COT, but I digress. I’d rather think of it as “competition”, which is what racing is all about, or what’s the point?
