Sorry to say this, but I “feel” that they should put the veil back on, grin …
The RA108 might look “really cool” up close, with all of this pretty marbling, etc.:
But, as a whole? It was hot last year; and this year it simply looks like a Honda.
Then again, whatever this F1-fan obsession with “livery” is all about, lol … it doesn’t matter how it looks. It’s about what it’ll do in race conditions, and Honda sounds confident for a change — especially since they’ve changed just about everything possible:
The team are continuing the “Earth Dreams” concept, with the new car being finished in white with a circular image of the earth across the engine box and sidepods. The car is adorned with “Earth Dreams” writing on the wings and aero. The car also features splashes of red around the cockpit. [See what I mean? The pics apparently aren't enough, lol -- now we must describe it! Ahem ... ANYway ...]
Honda’s drivers for 2008 are Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. Their 3rd driver is Alex Wurz, a man with huge levels of experience. Also recruited during the winter was Ross Brawn, one of the most influential technical chiefs ever who enjoyed huge successes with Ferrari.
Nick Fry said at the launch, “2007 was a year that failed to meet expectations. As a result of that there have been big changes in the team in the last six months. It is what I call accelerated evolution. The whole design philosophy of the car is different, it is different in every aspect. When we get to Melbourne every part on the car will be different from what we had last year.”
Ross Brawn said Honda’s goal for the season was to make steady improvement.
“Our ambitions are to progress positively. As long as we progress we will be happy,” he said. “We want to get back to respectable points scoring positions. We have huge potential in different areas, in Japan and Brackley. My aim is to pull that together.
“The team obviously had a very difficult year last year and they have had an extremely intelligent response to the problems we had,” added Brawn. “The difficulty with last year’s car was that it produced a lot of downforce but it was in a very aggressive way.” [Yeah, lol ... like so much downforce that it was curiously similar to watching a mouse struggling to get out of a glue-trap, grin ...] Full Story

Hi, thanks for using my news time and time again to fuel your satirical look at the serious world of Formula One.
Now and again, when i see the pingback to your blog on my WPDash i look forward to what you have to say, enjoying your jokes at comments made by F1 bosses in their interviews.
However, i feel that it is wrong to start joking about my writing. I was just describing a livery, not obssession as you so point out. If you have the authority to take the piss out of my writing, why dont you start writing your own articles instead of pilfering everyone elses? If all you are going to do is have a ‘pop’ at my stuff, then dont bother using it at all.
Thanks,
Rob
Hi, Rob.
I’m truly sorry that you feel this way, and certainly apologize for the misunderstanding; it was never my intention to take a shot at you, personally, or at the F1Fanatics blog. My comments regarding the “livery obsession” were directed toward F1 as a whole, as it is very much in contrast to NASCAR’s livery philosophy … and, yes, I often find that contrast (among many others) amusing.

Hi again!
Of course it’s ok — I’m just very happy that we’ve worked it out, and thrilled that I can continue to reference F1Fanatics, as I really enjoy/respect your work!
Take care, and don’t be a stranger!
