OMG, she’s back. Umm, I guess you had a few things on your mind? That’s a pretty good rant. There is something you should remember:

The TEAM OWNERS were the ones who insisted that the COT be run full schedule in ‘08. NA$CAR was going to run a mixed deal again with the full roll out to be in ‘09. The team owners did not want the expense of building two types of cars for the additional season and lobbied NA$CAR to go ahead a run the COT exclusively.

Some of the fallout from this seasons dismal racing is then the fault of the team owners.

Oddly, Hornish jr. seems to be the safest of the open wheel group. There are rumors that David Stremme will get the job at Penske. Then the games begin; Move Hornish jr. to the 12 car and put Stremme in the #77 for the ‘09 season.

If Penske does this, Hornish jr. will again enjoy a free ride in owner points during the first 5 races. He will also be eligible for the BUD SHOOTOUT since the revamped rules allow the top 6 teams in CAR OWNER POINTS from each manufacturer.

Carpentier “shouldn’t” have ANY doubts about ‘09, as he’s more than earned his stripes in NASCAR thus far, in my opinion … as have more than a few open-wheelers-turned-Cup drivers who now “don’t know if” … grrrrrrr … while, as talented as he might be, Sorensen? Has NOT. YET. (He needs to get busted down to Cup Light for a year or two, or step it UP, NOW … period.)

But, that’s not the real issue, at this point.

If NASCAR/ISC would STOP the freakin’ “Official Toilet Paper of NASCAR” sponsorships, RACE sponsorships - and even ISC TRACK sponsorships, now??

Maybe teams could get the BEST out on the track(s) again, of which Carpentier could very well BE — if he doesn’t lose a ride, that is. Franchitti & Montoya need to stay, too. (Get RID of Hornish, Jr., already … etc., lol …)

You’ve heard it all from me before, Grump, so I won’t keep beating this decomposing horse … but I swear it — we’re losing more than just “talent” here … we’re losin’ good RACIN’, week by week, and “sponsor” money’s not the only problem.

To me, the responsibility remains with France & Co., as their greed is the root of “this” whole, twisted NASCAR/ISC evil. I’ll save “further evils” for a later post … or a few, as I’ve got more than a few piss-me-offs comin’, grin …

Still can’t dispute the fact that 1) that kid can RACE, and 2) with the COT-rules paralyzing advances of ANY kind in an engineering sense on individual teams’ fronts … whaddaya’ expect but a few CC’s to DO WHAT THEY DO — TRY to get that extra advantage, ANY way they can. COT or not, it’ll always BE that way, or else they’re not doin’ their jobs, Grump.

Tho … huge “ouch” for JGR, lol … and, no WONDER Smoke’s just hired a degreed ENGINEER as his second driver at Stewart-Haas, hehe ….

Guess there’s no “price” that’d ever be low OR high enough for a real deal, huh? grin … at least this one’s street-legal (and/or race-worthy with that second engine) … plus, it’s CHEVY, and it’s SWEET, thanks to TPI, lol!!!!! (If I had a few extra 1/2-mils hangin’ around … then again, NOPE — no more ENORMOUS speeding tickets in my future, thank you … or, well … at least not right away, anyway, grin …)

LOL on the James Dean/Sr. collectible … hopefully, by then, enough Sr. fans will have spoken up — either by bitchin’ about it as we have and/OR (preferably) by zippin’ UP their wallets on that new die-cast series trash. “If wishes were horses …”

The only “series” of collectibles that COUNTS on this order of “memoriam” is the Series3. Now, a die-cast of THAT one?? I just might consider, darlin’.

– YET SOOOOOO UNLIKE the “Series3“. Yeah, the CUSTOM, Limited-Run CHEVY Camaro, commissioned by Richard Childress and built by Total Performance, Inc. (TPI)/Brook Phillips, (also of “Pit Viper” fame) — IN HONOR OF DALE EARNHARDT, SR. … ALL THE WAY.

GO TO TPI FOR MORE ON THAT … whether you have the cash to put down or not, TPI’s the REAL DEAL, and so is the Series3 … HONORING THE MAN VS. CAPITALIZING UPON HIS “NAME”.

The image is not of a COT. Hmm, I could swear that the ‘Man In Black’ car was a COT version. COT or not, I ain’t buyin’!
Did anyone but me notice that the image of Earnhardt is from his video with Brooks and Dunn?
